Psalm 30:1

God has lifted  me and not allowed my enemies the last say. That right there is enough to get your two step on. I will lift up the name of Jesus. I will bless the Lord. I will bless the Lord and make his praise glorious. I will tell of His goodness in keeping me even when I didn't deserve to be kept. Open up your month and laud the name above all names. Its not enough to just whisper it in your spirit or in your own personal time. You must let the world know that you didn't make it on your own and who did it for you.

Psalm 22:25-26

My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him. 26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.
Psalms 22:25-26 (KJV)

Are you hiding your praise? Too many of us are content to sit and be spectators in the sanctuary in stead of participants in the experience. We are too concerned with how we look and other peoples perceptions.
Let me let you in on a little secret, the other people looking around neither have a Heaven nor a hell to put you in so stop worrying about what they think about your praise and worship unto God.

Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Give an unabashed undignified praise.

in the midnight hour

The scripture for today, 4/18/16 is found in Acts 16:25-34

In our midnight hours the tendency is for many of us to run. But imagine what would happen if you begin to praise the Lord in advance. Imagine not only the impact it would have on your life but on the lives of those around you who may have never set foot in a church house. Paul and Silas recognized the power of a midnight hour praise and prayer session and an entire family got blessed and saved because of it.  For many of our friends and acquaintances the only Jesus they see is our daily walk.

Is your walk telling the story of a risen Savior and a redeeming God? Or is your walk telling the story of a sugar daddy you only acknowledge when you want something? Repent today for your selfish behavior and make the change. No longer do we have time for lukewarm Sunday morning Christians. Our hallway praise has to be strong enough to inspire change in both our lives and others.

Psalm 71:22

I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.
Psalms 71:22 (KJV)

Everything within my hands and my reach will be used as an instrument of praise. The truth is that you are awesome, marvelous, wonderful, righteous, glorious high and mighty in my life. Even if you never did another thing for me Lord I could praise your for just the truth of your blessings since I rose this morning. I will praise you with the instruments whether it be my voice, my hands or the musical instruments I will lift up mighty praise.

Psalm 150 Praise the Lord

The psalmist declares and encourages us to lift up a praise. If there is breath in your body lift up a praise. The situations, the circumstances, the annoyances, the good, the bad, and the ugly do nothing to change the fact that HE IS A WONDER. It doesn't change the fact that you are still alive which means that there is still a purpose for your life. It doesn't change the fact that you woke up clothed in your right mind and with a reasonable amount of good health. The fact that people are dying left and right senselessly at the hands of their peers and loved ones doesn't change the fact that God is...
What is He to you and how are you choosing this day to praise Him?

Stand in reverence

The scripture for April 15 reads as follows:

And the priests waited on their offices: the Levites also with instruments of musick of the LORD, which David the king had made to praise the LORD, because his mercy endureth for ever, when David praised by their ministry; and the priests sounded trumpets before them, and all Israel stood.
2 Chron 7:6 (KJV)

While studying recently I was reminded of a detail about the Holy of Holies that I had never attended to before. In all of the talk about the furniture in the room did you ever notice that there is no chair, stool, bench or any other place to sit.

Look at it this way when the President of the United States enters the room what do you do? You stand out of respect for the office that he holds. The same holds true in many cases for judges, pastors and other dignitaries. So why should God receive any less when we are called into corporate praise and devotion time. The worship leader should not have to beg and plead with you to participate in what was never supposed to be a spectator sport. Praise is about being thankful and respecting God for everything He has done.

Are you praising in the hallway or waiting for the door to open?

Put a praise on it

Tasha Cobb's new song Put a praise on it has been resonating in my spirit since I first heard one day when she ministered it at FBCG. Soon thereafter I realized that it was going to be one of the songs that the choir I direct would minister as part of our concert in July. As we get closer to the concerts I have tried over the last couple of years to share scripture with the choir that lines up with the songs that we will be ministering for the concert.

But this song when I got ready to share scripture wouldn't allow just one. So I researched and planned out a scripture about praise for every day in the month of April.  The overall theme scripture for the month was the following verse

And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever.
2 Chron 20:21 (KJV)
What confounds us as humans makes awesome spiritual sense. King Jehoshaphat sent the Levites out in front of the army. Why? What did he realize about the importance of praise (Hint: read the whole chapter and see what conclusion you draw leave a comment below if you so choose to do so) and how does that impact our lives today?

Have you praised him today for the miracles with your name on them or are you focusing on what your physical eyes see?
